(TMI POST) - copper coil and aches

I went to have a copper coil fitted, last friday. After an hour of trying to to position the coil, the Dr gave up and is referring me to the hospital. Since then, I've had (what i can only explain as) period pains in my lower back (no period though).

Has any one had a coil or not been able to, experienced the same achings?

A friend of mine had a failed attempt at having a coil put in (mirena not copper though) and she said she was in agony for about 2 weeks after but it settled down eventually. The solution to her problem was from her other half to be granted his vasectomy lol

Ah well, only another week to go.................if only cutting his balls off, was an option, on the other hand.............

I had a copper coil a few years ago and suffered pretty much constantly from back ache with it then when my period was due I had horrible cramps too and to top it off my periods were horrendously heavy. I persevered with it for about 8 months bit eventually couldn't stand anymore and had it removed.

However my friend has had one for the last few years and swears by it - she had Agee boggles at the beginning but they settled down after a while.

I was in total clip when I had a coil fitted, and ended up having it removed after about 18 months - have the implant now and its the mutts nutts most of the time - needed a top up a few months ago but easy to resolve with a months worth of low dose pill.

i had mine fitted a few months ago - the first 24 hours were agony - to the point I very nearly went back to have it taken out.
Then for about 2 weeks afterwards I had period type cramps.
Now I get nothing at all, haven't had a period since, couldn't even tell you when I would normally be due on, its great!
