    Waxing

Just booked into to get waxed, then watched a video on youtube about waxing and now i'm freaked out.

Have any of you had waxing done? If so is the pain actually bearable? I've had my eyebrows waxed before but thats it, didn't even feel it,

I've also read horror storys of people looking like plucked chickens for days on end and bleeding occuring.

Def a bearable pain, i get waxed every 6 weeks and you soon forget after it's finished. And nothing has ever gone wrong x x

It's in no way a pleasant sensation. Plus it all depends where you get waxed. Legs in my opinion are hardier than underarms, which in turn is a lot less sensitive than the ............erm.......... undercarriage!

But it's totally worth it. No razor marks, no day old regrowth, and the hairs really do grow back softer an finer.

wear normal knickers and the beautician will wrap paper around to protect them. I think waxing is great - I am short sighted and can't see waht I'm doing to shave legs etc in the shower

foofoo area killed me, when I had it done, remember it bleeding the first two times. Afterwards, it became bereable, legs on the other hand, the only part that hurts for me is my shinbones.

    Did you survive?

Oooh, I am booked in next week for my first ever waxing...having underarms, legs and bikini line done ready for my christmas in the sun.... I have the christmas ball the day after having it done too so I really hope my armpits aren't too blotchy otherwise I'll be copying that deoderant ad and keeping my elbows locked to my sides!

    Blondiie, are we mad?

I've considered getting bikini line done but the thought of the pain has been putting me off. Fortunately I'm not all that hairy on the legs and under arms so shaving every 3-4 days is fine.

I have a bikini done, i honestly didn't think it hurts but i have been having it done for years now so i must have got uses to the pain. But i'm with Mrs M, i dont haven't to do my legs as i have no hair on them and i dont get that hairy under my arms. So thankfully bikini is the only thing i have done.

It hurts, of course! It's a very quick, sharp sting and sometimes makes your eyes water :P But it's bearable! I sometimes get my upper lip waxed at a salon, and sometimes do it myself at home. That's worse because once it's on, you know you have to hurt yourself to get it off! Whereas if someone else does it, it makes it more bearable knowing it's over quicker

A few years ago I had a Hollywood wax down below... Oh. My. God. Not recommended for wimps! I don't think I'd do it again in a hurry either, haha!

and hair removal creams, my hair was falling out for days it was rotton, everytime i went to the loo i was like, errgh yet another clump that was non existant when i put my knicks on!!

I had a full leg wax at the weekend ready for my trip to New York this week. Seriously, it nips a little as she rips the hairs off, but it's gone half a second later.

As for eyebrows, I've become a fan of threading. It beats waxing hands down!

threading was great when they could hold the string in their mouths, but health and safety and all that bollicks!!!

    hollywood...all off, like everwhere!

yeah i'm assuming its like a quick pain then will just sting for a bit, to be fair i have a massive tatoo covering my rips and kidneys if i could hack that im sure i can hack my poonani being waxed!

I find if I put some anti-itch/anti-inflammatory cream on immediately afterwards I don't get blotchy. Definitely take some painkillers before you go and avoid getting waxed just before your period cos it hurts more!

I prefer a brazilian myself, I find hollywood has a touch of the 'last chicken in tescos' look about it

I just tend to shave down there but it itches like hell when it starts to grow back. I'm more of a brazilian than hollywood too.
