Re: Who does SKY in germany?

Oh thank you so much girls, going bonkers here withouyt my Sky. I'll try the roundhouse first. How do I find out what my Mill Hill address is then? Sorry, I'm a bit useless when it comes to these sort of things.
Well we had the family package, so your box standard channels, Living, E4, Music ect. (no movies, no sports) and used to pay 22£ a month.

MOD Edit cause doing stuff like that is naughty!

Have a lovely day everyone, enjoy the weather!

It's easy enough really, just get a sky contract set up at a UK address (I use my parents) get them to come and install it then just take the bugger down and take it with you. You can pick up a sat finder for cheap enough or if you're lucky enough to know somebody with a bit of experience it's a 5 minute job to find the sat. If you're lucky enough to be near a Signals regiment just go offer one of their techs (one with a bit of knowledge) a crate and they'll be more than happy enough to bang it up for you.

if you cant be bothered getting one set up in the Uk first just buy a box off Ebay and ring sky up and tell em you just want a card, give them a UK address and get yourself a dish from the SSVC or what not and you'll be in. Ignore what sky say about needing a phone line it's complete rubbish. They send the set up signals over the sattelite, all the phone line is for is charging you for PPV sports, Sky Box Office etc. And if you search on the internet you can get them for free anyway (it's just a tad dodgy)
Thebull140 needs to realise that other people have opinions too!

I do sir, i just also know that they're wrong!

Do you mean the 3 mobile skype phones or the type that you plug into your computer?

If your talking about the type that plug into the PC then yes they will, 3 don't cover Germany so although your phone would work you would be charged for the data that was being used while you were making the call.

If you need anymore info just ask.

You can get a mobile phone out here, either contract or pay as you go. There is a shop on camp here in Fallingbostel who speak English so probably worth popping in and seeing them when you arrive.

If your phone is open ie takes any sim card it would be worth bringing that and just getting a sim card to go into it.

    Re: SKY - Q&A's

Hi Everybody and I hope you are all well,

    Sky Viewing cards

This is to give everybody that is interested in Sky TV both now and in the future a brief insight into this new service that we have just started.

It has taken months but finally I have managed to source the cheapest supply of Sky viewing cards available to people outside the UK. This means that we now offer Sky viewing cards for £150.

However, as members of Rear Party have been extremely good customers I have created a limited time offer just for Rear Party Customers only. This offer will end on the 31st July 2009.

If you send us an email through the Forces Resources website at the same time as ordering I will deduct £10 from the price of the Sky viewing card which will make it £140. This is £80 off of our previously charged price of £220.

If you have a UK address which we can use to register a Sky subscription at but you cannot get back to the UK to set up a subscription we can get you a card for £90.

    Annual Charges.

If you have a UK address which we can register a sky card at there are NO annual charges. Otherwise we would charge you £120 per year. The first charge of this would be payable a year after your sky card is registered. This annual fee is for the re-registration of your card at a UK address.

You are able to select your packages as normal and once your card is set up you would pay your Sky subscription monthly.

You can find out more and also view the Sky equipment that we sell such as digiboxes and dishes at
    http://www.ForcesResources.co.uk/Sky/index.php

On our viewing card page you can find examples of card costs but don't forget to email us if you would like to subscribe so that you can claim your £10 discount.

Thanks in advance and if you have any questions please so not hesitate to contact me. The best way to do this is email me at customer.services@forcesresources.co.uk or through our website.
    Thanks in advance,
    John Evans
    Director
