    advice needed unfortunately

    Hi,

I know I havent introduced myself yet. Its unfortunate that I have to do this now seeking advice. I have been together with ex bf who is in the army for quite a few years. But as I havent been living near were he was based i havent got much of a clue about the army stuff.
Thats why I hope someone here might be able to give me some insights on something here. Like i wrote he is my ex bf, he split up from me quite a few month ago. I am living in Germany and he is also based here. We had bought a property together which was bought on basis 50% each with a 100% finance. I had tried to reach an agreement with him about the property, as i have a kid at shool age. As we hadnt had the property long together, nly a bit over a years before the split, i offered him to pay him back what was paid off by him. Well to cut it short, he got a lawyer, i have now one aswell. No agreement has beend reached and it doesnt look like there will be. Due to him wanting to get around 35 thousand eur more of me than he paid in.
My dilemma is that his lawyer doesnt wanna provide an adress, my lawyer needs it as he hasnt paid mortages and side costs.
So is it possible for me to get his proper adress of the army, we were not married. But he is in the property contract and loan contract with me. I need to foward him some paperwork. Also have received letter of some debt collector for him at this adress.
    Help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks
    Muimui

Get your lawyer to do the leg work, sorry but I don't get involved in domestics and if I did I'd be wondering why your lawyer hasn't done so before now.
Site cynic...... say what you like, I'll translate it for you.

Thats my problem am not living near a garrison town by quite a couple of 100 kms. So i got a lawyer who is local to me, but who never had to deal with this. As we werent married is my lawyer likely to get the adress? Which numer could he ring? Sorry i am so clueless. I have never been in a situation like this luckily.

If you send any correspondence to him/for him through your lawyer directly to his lawyer you can pretty safely assume he will get it. Obviously his lawyer has contact details for him so will pass on anything he needs to. You don't need an address if you have contact details for his lawyer who is acting as his representative.

If your lawyer can't figure out what to do I'd fire him and hire one who can. It's his job to know and if he doesn't he either shouldn't have taken on the case or he should find out. That's what you pay him for.

Thank you, thats true and my lawyer is getting paid more than enough by now. Up to now my lawyer and me were too patient as we hoped an agreement would be reached. But we just got a letter back from his lawyer saying he finds it hard to communicate and contact him aswell. (That after 6 month since the split) And now i am getting letters of debt collectors for him send to my adress. This is making me panic now that he is just gonna try and disappear about it. As i didnt know either that he seams to have some other debts.

    My bold.....

If you both have lawyers, then you are obviously in contact with him, but via the lawyers. Unless things end on good terms this is unfortunately what happens. If I was him and had appointed a lawyer to act on my behalf and my ex had located me through my employer I would be furious......

Send the letters back with the words not known at this address. It's not your responsibility to chase him. If they want they're money they will find him.

I assume when you both entered into the contract on the house, signatures were taken so my priority would be getting in touch with your creditor and sorting your end of things out. His end is his problem.

This is the problem with loans i am liable in full, the same as he is. So i have been paying everything thats due reagrding the property. As his lawyer has put it as he is having problems contacting him aswell, things are just stalling. I usually wouldnt contact his employer, but it has been over 6 month were there has been no agreement reached. In german law terms this means the property will have to get auctioned by court, if no agreement is reached. This is due to us not being married. Something else i didnt know about before i signed together with him... grrr... was i stupid!
