might be worth switching suppliers, every area differs with who is cheaper/more pricey. I'm currently on an elec meter, which was here when i first moved in, waiting to have it switched to a normal meter. But with elec, I'm paying out £40 a month on elec, gas i pay £40 p/m (not a keyed meter).

I'm in a 2 bed, in my last 2 bed, my winter monthly cost went down from £140 p/m to £85 and that was after i had new insulation and the walls injected with it. It's worth getting a look in, you might even qualify for x amount of free insulation

Hi, I dont know where youre based, but please try contacting the Local Council to see if they have an energy efficiency officer. If they have one persuade them (beg them) to visit promising them a cuppa and a cake or something - and get them to have a look at the house / heating apparatus etc and explain your issues. Even if they can't take up the fight on your behalf you will find that they know the tricks of the trade / what is reasonable and what is not, they will be familiar with heating apparatus etc and they will give you advice on where you stand / next steps. I've dealt with Utilities for years and they will fob you off forever. I mean we sold my partners old house earlier this year and the electricity co initially refused to let us close our account until we told them who the buyer was. If I hadnt said that this was against data protection, we could still have been getting electricity bills!!!
