    December honeymoons???

We're tying the knot on 01/12/2011 and are hoping to go somewhere for a small honeymoon at some point shortly after. I'd love a nice hot beach somewhere to top up the tan for xmas, but all the warm places I've looked at aren't so good at that time of year (hurricane season etc.)
I need help!!!! Suggestions on a postcard....or posted below please???

Try the Far East - somewhere in Asia, Malaysia...erm...Maldives? Cuba would be good if it wasn't forces-unfriendly (I think they still need permission to go there but I could be wrong) as it'd be warm and comfy but not overly killer in December but I think the Caribbean is probably more likely to get hit by something around that time of year (September onwards can be a strange time).

I'm not a beach-y type person so not much use (and haven't double checked the above for the Far East as , well, it's 8am and I'm typing from bed so not quite awake enough yet) I have, however, been to Cuba more often than I've been to Scotland so I can say that December's not a bad time at all. May get a few rainy days etc. but it's still lovely and warm. Maybe Dominican Republic? That seems popular...or somewhere similar?

Honeymoon - we spent ours backpacking (staying in reasonably nice hotels, though) around Vietnam in monsoon weather. It was brilliant!

The Maldives will be hot at that time of year. We went in the October and it was boiling and it was only going to get hotter!

My recommendation..Mexico, I holidayed there one November/December, the west coast at Puerto Vallarta. Nice and sunny, some great luxury hotels/apartments at reasonable prices, and December is turtle hatching/whale watching season!!

We went to the Maldives over christmas and new year...bloody lovely to be flying out to somewhere hot as Blighty was sitting under a blanket of snow, but the possibility of delayed/cancelled flights was just a little worrying! Well worth it once we were there, and having the resort more than half empty because others couldn't get out there was a huge billy-bonus! It is definitely the greatest beach holiday destination in the world!

Argh never even thought about snow and flight cancellations! Unfortunately that's the only time we can plan for at the moment. Mexico or Maldives it is though!

Pretty sure it's may to November (we wanted to go in June) Worth looking into more. Some islands more susceptible than others so check individual islands.

You really should be able to get good deals this time of year!! Check on Expedia.co.uk and Easyjet.com to see the types of vacation packages they have to offer. Also check for last minute travel offers on groupon.co.uk . Or you could go to a travel agent, sometimes they have the best deals you can get on some of the most desired locations.

Not quite so glamourous, but the Canaries are nice in December, mid 80's, and very quiet too.
Chaos, panic, disorder, my work here is done!
