Coming to this thread a bit late, apologies.

Unless your OH is part of the Bridal party or an usher, I don't think they should be worn by your OH. What is the point?

To me, it comes across as a bit attention seeking really and a bit of a funny way of trying to upstage the bride and groom, and if he is RAF would you not be horrified if he was mistaken for an Air Cadet , given a hi-vis jacket and put in charge of car parking ......

Tootsie loved the high viz comment, as himself has just been given a RAF high viz waistcoat to wear in the hangar

    Spanner,

My old man has only ever worn No 1's when we got married, always a suit and tie to others weddings. I do like your OH's plan about leathers though. Much better!

    Me xx

At a military wedding uniform should be worn by serving commissioned officers (permission sought from the CO). Some regiments frown on wearing uniform at weddings (cav/guards) but the regimental tie should be worn. The sword bearing lot should be drawn from the ranks and in uniform (cav/guards). I suspect that the "rules" probably apply to the ranks too, don't see why they shouldn't.

Navy is different again and 5's or 2's if Army (not cav/guards) should be worn by all those still serving. I have no idea about the RAF

If in doubt ask the bride and do what she wants.

IMO it doesn't bloody matter so long as no one is insulted or made to feel uncomfortable and anyone that has an issue with him wearing or not wearing uniform is a prat.

Well this afternoon Mr S parted with a whole £40 in Asda Living for a linen suit and smart open necked shirt. The suit was in the clearance section, and he looks very gorgeous in it and also relaxed. I never thought we'd get there, first wedding is tomorrow!

I just showed Mr D this and he told me to "shh" but then when I asked well what would you like me to tell them you wear in bed and he said "nothing" I am not sure if he means don't say anything or say he wears nothing?!
