I feel incredibly guilty now because I didn't even think of that. We have sticks of rock for ours, although we have said that 10% of the money we get for a wedding present will go to Help The Heroes.

I like the favor idea!
We had sticks of personalised rock and seed sticks for our that turn into some kind of plants (god knows what) but they looked like match stick books with our names etc on them and people commented on how lovely they are.
Our friends who are having a very grand wedding this August are having lip balm for the ladies and cigars for the men, they are getting married in Lincoln Cathedral and I will be nearly ready to drop, imagine if my waters broke in the cathedral!!
PMSL!

Hi Kiki,
as much as I try to forget about that particular wedding, I don't think there was a problem with timing of guests finishing before others went up to the buffet. 60 people won't take long to be served. hope your wedding and reception go well.

Some people are like slinkies, they're really good for nothing...but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs!
Boogie, At least it will be a day to remember!!

Up until the last 15 years or so, almost all wedding receptions were buffet style, usually held in the 'best room' of a pub
No formal seating arrangements etc, just the pub room with a table load of scoff and the cake.
Some of the best weddings i have been to have been informal buffets in the 'best room' of a pub![]()
Its your day and your wedding, if some folk dont like whats on offer then they're not worth the invite in the first place.
Now i'm off to root out my old pics of past bunfights. There's always those ones where dad has a carriage lamp spouting from the top of his head and mam with what looks to be a breadstick assaulting her left nostil
Bossybitch says......Problem?
Hi, smartcookie.
Could you tell which venue did you finally choose?
I have now the same problem as you did, and i'm having a nightmare finding a venue.
I am going now through cheap wedding venues list on this page and calling one after another.
I hope i will find something, but so far it's a big problem.
Let me know.
i had my wedding at this place - cost £6000 altogether including my dress which was £1000! We just did a roast dinner with dessert and it was lovely.

Wedding is the most important day in a man or a woman’s life. But among the post wedding celebration the reception is perhaps the most important. the arrangement starting from selecting the reception venue to choosing the right decorator, florist, confectioner for the wedding cake etc. Great reception ideas always help for they enable us to make our reception party a special one.
