Re: Wedding gift ideas.
depends what your budget is but one of our favourite gifts was our favourite wedding picture put onto canvas, everyone who sees it says how lovely it is and its in black and white which I love.
or...something we did for ourselves after the wedding, was to buy some of those huge frameless frames and make a montage of everyone's photos from our wedding. Not so expensive and a doddle as long as you can get a load of good pics.choc-chip cookie x
Some people are like slinkies, they're really good for nothing...but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs!

Re: Wedding gift ideas.
When my friend got married last year I made up a photo album of all the photos from the hen night and the wedding. Then I gave a photo sized bit of paper to each of our girlfriends and got them all to write a personal message for the bride and then slotted them in the pockets at the back. She loved it.

i did a similar thing for my sisters hen weekend, bought a big picture frame, a polaroid camera, took pics of the girls and glued them to a backing board and got the girls to write their comments.
We used the polaroid camera at our wedding too, asked our ushers to take pics of the guests, stick them into the guest book and guests then write their comments next to their pictures. Will be quite amusing to look back at it in many years to come!
I like the photo album idea from the hen do. Might do that for the next sister getting wed!choc-chip cookie x

My mate got me a lovely Willow Tree "Friendship" figurine for our wedding day , to make it "just for me". It's gorgeous, simple and understated. I hate ornaments and she knows that, but love that one.
You can also get them cheaper on Ebay! lol

Re: Wedding gift ideas.
when my cousin married the OH's best friend my mum ( shes very crafty and good at stuff) got hold of one of those giant brandy glasses that stand about 18 inches high and engraved the names of all the guests all the way around it with a bride and groom on the front, we got the names from the guest book and even though it took a couple of weeks it was worth it, they got married nearly 18 years ago and it still has pride of place in their home.

Re: Wedding gift ideas.
I was my best mates bridesmaid a few years ago and was so skint after coming home from Australia for the wedding I could only afford to get them 2 champagne glasses.
What I did though was take a sneaky picture of them when they were doing their first dance (one of those natural shots when they were staring into each others eyes ha ha!)and put it in a nice silver frame and gave them that.
It's the only wedding picture she has in her living room so I'm well chuffed. Or maybe she only brings it out when i visit........They said it could'nt be done, so I did'nt do it
