    O2 Offers Military Discount

    Ladies,
We've just had this in from an RP regular who wishes to remain anonymous but I'm sure it will be of interest to many of us:

o2 have just announced that the Armed Forces are now part of the o2 Open Scheme, where employees of certain organisations or companies can get a discount on their mobile contract.

    Mobile Offers

£75 for a pay monthly handset tariff over £20 per month
£50 for a handset tariff at £20 or under
    £25 for Simplicity 12 months
    £10 for 30 day Simplicity

The O2 Open offer is also available for friends and family of the corporate employees. This can be used for five friends and family members.

We don’t currently have an Online solution on O2.co.uk yet but we are working on a solution for the future.
The discount is only available at stores or by calling our customer care team.

To get these offers all you need is a unique code.

Armed Forces will use their Forces ID:
Please enter the following prefix in front of their number...

    ARM for the Army

RAF for the Royal Air Force

    NAV for the Navy

They can also use this for five of their friends and family by giving their ID number to their F&F member.
(no need for person to be there)
*Please remove any other letters from this ID number.

What if I am already on O2?
For mobile discounts the credit has to be reapplied for at the next upgrade date.

There are many other organisations and companies who are part of the o2 Open scheme, including the NHS and members of the Police Federation. Each one will have their own code or number so check with your employer to see if they are part of this scheme.

Would the discounts be able to be used in conjunction with someone who is already on an 02 employee's friends and family discount?

Boots was just about to add that vodafone do 20% discount - but only when you start a contract!

Mine starts as soon as my 4Gs arrives in store!

Woo Hoo, been on O2 for years and my contract was up in September. The only reason I haven't upgraded is because they offered to cut my monthly rate from £35 to £10 so I could wait to upgrade after the new iPhone had been released. I'm quite happy with my old iPhone for £10 a month and 1200 free minutes, so I've not bothered.. think I might have to join the 4s brigade now.....

Mr Dragon bless him, managed to get drunk at the Fathers Dinner night, got brought home by the boys, and woke up in the spare room the next morning to find he had carefully put his phone in a pint glass of water the previous night.... so he had to upgrade a couple of months back.....
Chaos, panic, disorder, my work here is done!
