    June Book Competition

What happened when the fighting between the Axis and Allied Powers stopped in May 1945? Life wasn’t all rosy and peaceful. Across Europe vast numbers people were on the move having been chased out of their homes; killing, rape, all types of violence was the norm. Not a highly publicised period in history, but we now have a book which investigates this period – Savage Continent by Keith Lowe.

For your chance to win go to the entry form on Survey Monkey and correctly complete the questions. There are 5 copies of this book available. The competition will run until Sunday 10th June.

The review of the book by Boldnotold can be found here.

(Happy to give up my book if I win/Have AY redraw if my name comes out, so that someone else gets it - but I figure the more people that enter each month, the more chance of them continuing the competitions...)

Lot of incorrect answers - some people obviously can't use Google/Wiki properly

Still plenty of time to get your - correct - entries in.

In reply to some of the above - if Feisty wins then feisty gets the book; that's what 'luck of the draw' means

Bodger - in reply to your reply to my sig - Say's who? and I promise that that comment won't change your chances (much)

    And the winners are:
    HHH
    Mike1682
    squeekingsapper
    scc970
    Mons6

Congrats to them and I will email them for their contact addresses.

Answers (and I am surprised how many got the answers wrong as Google/Wiki had them all)

    Q1 - Westminster College, Missouri

Q2 - Stettin (in the Baltic) to Triest (in the Adriatic)

    Q3 - 28 years (1961-1989), although 38 seemed to be a popular (incorrect) answer!
Look out for the next competition starting later this week.

I don't know whether or not I got the answers right and I can't be bothered to check, but I'm going to have a bit of a moan.

Not one, NOT ONE of those winners are RP posters. That's it. I'm not playing any more

Well I post occasionally on RP - does that count?

Anyway, if you don't take part then that means you won't have a chance at the next RP only competition which will be starting soon!! Still, that means more chance for everyone else

Of course our lovely AY counts.

So, was this an ARRSE and RP joint competition then? Didn't realise.

It was an Arrse, RR and RP comp as most are. There are some which I only put on RP when the publisher wants a largely female audience.

Q3 probably because they started to divide berlin by '51 , but didn't complete the wall till 10 years later
