Just filled out a DLA form for Monkey who has ASD Aspergers and as he's of 'superior' intelligence, their word, not mine and not in need of a Statement we now need to get DLA to allow a Portfolio of needs for his secondary transfer.

It's a nightmare. We're now going through an appeal for girl brats claim. Duel sensory loss, BSL user for most situations now (which when her sight goes will be of no use), slowly but surely losing her sight, can't really go out on her own but because she lives her life she's being and will be punished. PIP looks like it'll be even more of a bastard....

Completely sympathise there, my son's 10 with the same diagnosis (plus semantic pragmatic disorder). I detest the DLA forms, had to file a review pack last year. Because you have to think of the 'worst times' they are so negative and leave me feeling quite upset, we're used to seeing the positives in our children and having to sit down and actually record in print all of the negative aspects is a heartbreaking experience...not to mention it takes an age to get through the form! Hope it all goes well x

Ive been there done that now on renewal still as bad my son has ADHD (no hes not just a naughty child) and the processes in getting help are crap as are support networks here.

Found out today if you have to re-apply you can request a copy of your last form to be sent to you!
