    Toddler shoes

I am looking for gladiator style sandals for my daughter because she wriggles her toes out of the standard bar shoes. Anyone have any idea's? I have looked at Kickers, Startrite, Clarks (you have to go into a shop) and Happy Little Soles. Miss Gonzo is walking, and has been for nearly 7 months now.

I need a couple of pairs and am happy to spend up to £30 each but not much more if I can help it.

Thanks ladies, I know you'll come up trumps.

Oh, and my Mum has broken her foot so I need to get delivered direct to BFPO if I can.

Nicosia has a Next and M&S and NAAFI used to stock Clarks, well it did in 2005. Wee ones need shoes to be fitted, easier said than done.

I've found that I don't have to have shoes fitted with sandals, their toes aren't going to get squashed. Always get them fitted with proper shoes though

Naafi don't do shoes here anymore and the shops over here are so expensive. Might just have to suck it up I guess.

Sandals will need fitting too, width and heel support crucial in wee ones feet.

Couldn't agree more, it's important to have all foot wear measured and fitted properly in the first ten years of a childs life.

Anyone who goes for fashion over fitting is just neglectful.

Agree about having shoes fitted, but have to say the only place I trust to measure feet is John Lewis and they supply about four different brands. They then tell you which brand fit your child's foot shape, and instep. Clarks fitters are not what they were anymore which is a huge, huge shame. I particularly find the outlet centres to be completely rubbish, even though they have computers which measure the feet electronically ffs.

Saying that though, I think for a pair of kickabout summer sandals it is not so important. We all had those jelly shoes when we little and we have no foot problems.....

I don't let my 2 have fashion shoes as such, but both mine have got some jelly shoes, and crocs, as well as some summer sandals. The youngest has clarks sandals.
I suppose we all just parent differently.

If I was in UK I would have Miss Gonzo in Clarkes within a shot, but the Clarkes in Larnaca only do from a size 1 so no good. The Kickers store in Lefkhosia measures properly, and I think they are the next best option over here because the others are mainly clothing shops with a side line of shoes.

Mrs M, thank you for your offer to send them over if I get them sent to you.

In relation to her sandals she wears them everyday at the moment because it is so hot here.

Hmmm I think I should go to Lefkhosia and just live with the price.

I was in Chelmsford with the children today, and I had a look in Clarks, they currently have their summer stock on sale but I have to say I did not see any Gladiator style shoes, are you certain that Clarks do them?

She is a 5d (baby) - TLC not sure Clarkes do, but doesn't help anyway because Clarkes do from a 1 upwards here.

Will keep my eyes out for you when shopping with kids over the next few days - all the sales are on at the moment. Failing that, would Clark Doodles not suffice, or do they not do those anymore?

They do do Doodles, but they are closed in toes, and it is so hot over here I really would prefer something that would allow her feet to get some air to them. Might have to have a rethink. I am an awkward Gonzo aren't I?

I am going to Braintree Freeport tomorrow with kids, do you want to pick up a pair in that size and get them out to you? Happy to do it if it helps ...

Mothercare have some small size sandals which would fit:

    first walker sandal - mothercare

They have got strappier gladiator sandals, but the sizes are a bit too big for her.

They seem to have international stores:

Mothercare store finder - Pushchairs, Car Seats, Nursery Furniture, Baby & Maternity Clothes

Could you find the store nearest to you and call them to ask whether they have any sandals you like from their selection on the shelf?

Oooh will have a nose at Mothercare. Didn't even think of them. They don't have any in the local but they might online.

TLC, thank you for the offer but don't worry. I'm going to have a last ditch nose in town and if I still can't find any I am going to order and get delivered to my Nan, she can post them out - will give her something to do!
