Christening gifts - new help please!

Right, seeing as I am single and no kids, it is not only my parents trying to bribe me into a relationship! Now my friends are taking pot shots, the first step is to make me a Godmother but I did accept this. Their daughter is 2yrs old and a lovely child to be around, it is her christening in a few months and I am unsure of what to buy her. This is where you lovely ladies and gentlemen step in; can you share some good ideas with me please? I am brain dead with thinking!

Well traditionally, godparents buy their godchild their first bible...but this obviously depends on how religous you and they are. Personalised silver gifts are also usually popular, like photo frames and albums etc.

Thank you, the parents are Greek Orthodox and being Cyprus it is a very religious country. My father also being ordained, you could say religion is not something hiding in my family lol

Bible sounds like a great idea also! But the silver gifts, they are oh so cute!

On the website above you can get a personalised cover for the bible which may be a bit more personal!

The silver gifts are indeed cute BUT as a mother of 2 I found the I have a load of silver christening gifts.

My daughters got a gorgeous gold cross and chain for hers, something for her when she is older that she can wear and my son got a gold St Christopher, again for when he is older.

    Hope that helps some

I recieved a gold neclace from one godparent and a silver charm bracelet from another, the charm bracelet is especially good as my godmother gave me charms to add to it at various birthdays etc, so although not particularly suitable as a two year old it is something that i still cherish now as an adult.

I often find that it is nice to make up a little gift package, this is what I normally do.
One practical gift for the child now, one gift that means something to the parents, i.e a bible, christening bracelet (a nice idea for a little girl to have now) and then a future gift for baby i.e a St Christopher, A crucifix, A charm bracelet or a piece of jewellery like earings.
All of these things will depend upon the sex and age of the baby/child and the religion the parents have chosen to follow and bring the child up under. I hope that this is of help and there are a lot of websites out there catering to this sort of thing.

i think sweet baby rubber ducky bath time and teddy bear baby gift basket. This gift has so much in it, it is hard to know where to start. First of all, it is a very useful gift for any mom but it will make bathtime great fun for baby too.

The idea is that you are able to keep a treasured memory in the shape of the baby’s hand and foot print which will be contained in these lovely silver-toned ornaments, designed to hang on the wall.
