    Question

My oh is still in training and so I don't know the answer to a Q I was asked and wandering if someone can help,
A lady I know wants to send parcels out to our troops in afghan for Christmas and wants to know how she can do it and if she can I know they may not get them in time, she wants to send sweets, little travel games, mags, smellies and a Xmas card hats and crackers I have told her to leave the crackers due to the snap thing they have in them.
Firstly can she do it, how will she go about it is there someone she can contact that could help, i understand if she can't send packages due to security.

The last christmas posting date was 3rd December. Members of the public are asked not to send parcels to soldiers they dont know as it cloggs up the mailing system and means serving personnel dont get the parcels from loved ones. There is more info on the BFPO website. There are charities that have been set up so if people want to support the troops with parcels, they can donate to the charity and these do not use the BFPO system.

The last i heard was they were 'discouraging' sending random parcels as they were overloaded and were struggling to get family post over there. Its a shame when people are being so generous but they have limited space for post.
