    Oh Jezza!

Jeremy Clarkson has seemingly put his foot in it again with this comment!

How, considering it was an abservation, can it be deemed offensive?

Now I think Jeremy and his Ilk are a cying breed, the older unapologetic pervy distant relative who comes across as slightly sexist but in a non offensive kind of way. Last of a dying breed of Benny Hill types.

If I were an overly sensitive, feminist, hemp skirt wearing Mary Whitehouse fanatic I would take great offence to Jeremy, but I can't bring myself to because he is just so goofily funny!

If it's a true story, then what's the problem? Sorry, but I don't see an issue at all.

And if it's not, then it's still amusing.

    Re: Oh Jezza!

By yesterday morning, seven viewers had already contacted the BBC to complain, while singer Lily Allen labelled the comment 'distasteful' on her Twitter site.
I will bet a week's worth of CK's alcohol rations that those people are all white and middle class! The only people who seem to be offended by anything to do with any kind of ethnic minority are the ones who become offended on their behalf!

And Lily Allen?? Isn't she the one who was gobbing off in all directions a couple of years ago, offending everyone she came in contact with?

Tact is for people who aren't witty enough to be sarcastic.

Seriously, I can't see what's offensive in that comment. The day the owner of the red g-string and stockings complains is the day, if at all, it should have been reported. Some people really do like to jump on the Clarkson's a git bandwagon.

I love the guy so can't help but laugh. I agree with the white middle class complainants though. Some people have nothing better to do.

    Re: Oh Jezza!

why on EARTH shouldn't a muslim woman wear sexy undies under her burkha?? If she's got a hubby, it puts a smile on his face (they aren't all women should be seen and not heard types) and if she's single, well we all know the confidence boost that can be gained from wearing nice undies!! I shall go about now, looking at ladies in burkhas and thinking "good on ya lass, get them frillies on"

Clarkson is just a typical Yorkshireman. Tells it how he sees it!

Seven viewers complained, which means the other 5,999,993 viewers of Top Gear on Sunday night didn't.

I have to say that if I've woke up feeling a bit crappy, I have been known to put on my favourite sexy undies under my suit and sat in Court with a smile on my face. It does tend to make you feel good as opposed to normal everyday "work" underwear.

I wonder how many of them were fully paid up burkha wearers, and how many were leftie tree huggers being outraged on behalf of those women. I'm guessing not many of the Top Gear viewer demographic are muslim women, whereas a fair few will be said lentil-scoffers ,waiting, breath held, special 'complaining pen' in hand just anticipating the little frisson of excitement they get when jezza comes out with one of his gems!!!

They get a semi on every time he breathes in to speak....tossers!!

I'd love it if the cabbie came out & confirmed it as true, just to shut up the people who have complained about Jezza

I think there's a big difference between making jokes that are close to the line and actually wanting to cause offence. I doubt very much if JC ever has any malicious intent in the things he says.
