    Birth present

Ok, so a friend of mine is having a much wanted baby next month. I have found out it is a girl. Two of our mutual friends and I want to buy Mum a gift to say congratulations as it is her first and may be only child. So I have ordered this:

mummy and me vintage pink hearts set by lily belle girl | notonthehighstreet.com

after consultation with the others, what do you think? Too girly? I am also sending a baby gro and things but wanted something nice but not going to break the bankish from us as a group.

    Me xx

I think its lovely, I am sure your friend will love it. I think something like that sometimes really touches the heart as they're usually bogged down with much appreciated but stupid amounts of the same stuff. I've not seen those before.

A friend of mine got pregnant unexpectedly and the little baby had everything she needed and more before she was born from family and friends, so when she was born and they named her I got a star named after her and put the certificate and its 'location' map in matching frames. The star probably doesn't exist but they liked it all the same LOL.

That's absolutely lovely. I usually like to buy some bits for baby, and then something to pamper Mum too, like a spa day/massage/manicure or something.

Having recently been there with a little girl, I can thoroughly recommend notonthehighstreet. The personalised mum and baby stuff is beautiful. I have my heart on a little acorn necklace engraved with Rosebud's initials and birthday.

We have more baby grows than we can shake a stick at, but, not wanting to sound ungrateful, Rosebud is growing so fast that her clothing fits for a couple of wears and that's it. She has a lovely outfit that she's never worn because she grew up too fast!

And OH bought me a spa day too. Not sure whether that's for me to be ridiculously pampered, or an excuse to get me out of the house so he can have a daddy and daughter day

My friends hubby has already paid a ludicrous amount for her to have a spa day (he is a soft git), but she is not really one for manicures, etc. She is more of an outdoorsy type and would probably prefer I bought something for her dogs to ensure they are not being missed out!

Oh wow, that's brilliant! I've found at baby showers often baby gets millions of pressies but mummy gets forgotten entirely! And the fact that it's a mummy and baby set makes it very special. Just don't be surprised if she bursts into tears when you give it to her though - sentimentality lies very close to the skin during pregnancy!

I always include something for Dad, even if its only a cigar as they usually get totally forgotten about!
