    Scratching!

Little Rosebud has a habit of flinging her arms around during her more frustrated moments and she ends up scratching her face with her nails.

Any ideas or experience as to how to handle her nails? Scratch mitts are flung off instantly. She doesn't keep still long enough to try to cut her nails... Or do I just keep trying when she's calm?

(BTW, my own scar is itching like mad today, a bit red too. I guess scratching it would not be a good idea... )

I had a little pair of rounded-end scissors and used to do it when they were asleep.

I had baby grows with envelope sleeves that went over their hands.

    Failing that nibble at them.

Bio Oil is very good for scars.

and envelope sleeved babygrows for wee one, or socks over hands work just as well.

As TLC says, cut them when they're asleep. I also found some little nail files in boots for babies to stop them being so sharp. Although I only used them once!

Bio oil all the way for you young lady!! Am putting it on my scars twice daily and they don't itch. Also they're already fading. It's half price in Lloyds chemists at the mo.

Ooh, bio oil, I have some of that! Might wait a little while for the scar to heal up a bit more - it's only been three weeks, or maybe I'm just a whimp.

Some of the baby grows we've got have the hand pockets in the sleeves. Trouble is poor Rosebud is on the small size and her hands disappear half way up the sleeves OH tried filing her nails yesterday... hmm... that was interesting! But rounded scissors whilst asleep sounds a good plan.

    Thanks as always ladies

My advice is start using it as soon as you can. I started using it at my 3 week point. Gentle massage does the trick. It also makes/keeps the scar supple.
