It's funny how as deployment continues ...so the 'need' to blog receded somewhat (either that or I have just been too busy with work and need to readjust the work life balance thing!) The fact that he is away is always in the back of my mind....and I wake up sometimes from vivid dreams and when I wake there is that split second thought of 'He's here' and then the real world comes into focus again and I realise he won't be here for a while yet!

I can't believe that we will be breaking up for Easter in 4 weeks time - that means we will be half way through April which means only a month till homecoming. (Yes, it's imaginative the way in which I count things!).

What I do take from this experience is the belief that the 'Forces' don't break up relationships. People do. When we sign up for a Man/Woman in Blue/Green/Khaki we know what we are getting ourselves into. In many ways (and admittedly I am new to this!) the enforces separation makes relationships stronger. You have to have communication, you have to have trust, you can't want and expect everything on your terms, you have to learn to be patient etc. You have to buy lots of pencils.....! Let's face it - if you can make it through training/deployment together then really you can pretty much make it through anything life throws at you!

To me the whole experience of him being away has really made the cliche of absence makes the heart grow fonder even more true. I write every day - and not because I feel I have to - it's because I want to - even if it is just a small postcard (they are thankfully not ALL 4 pages long and soppy!). He does get called BFPO out where he is deployed though - I guess everything just tends to come at once. It's now a game of what 'weird' things can I send to him next. Chilli flavoured things are going down well out there and I'm now on the lookout for Wasabi flavoured sweets /chocolate!! (weird I know)! Not easy - sourcing in Warsaw then sending via the UK to the sandpit!! But where there's a will, there's a way!

The best I have managed so far is Chocolate Covered Wasabi Peas which are currently winging their way over to Iraq!!
I have sought out all sorts of weird chilli flavoured and wasabi flavoured stuff!! Peas, nuts, crisps!
The chilli jelly sweets were apparently a big hit!
Chilli Chocolate I understand and you are right it makes a huge difference to a chilli!
If you like Wasabi flavoured stuff I will bring some Wasabi nuts home with me at Easter and send them to you - they are way stronger than anything british made!! xx

Oh my I can see it now nostrils on fire because I've breathed in the wasabi! Actually yesterday was the first time I've found wasabi nuts in Tesco's here and they were a massive £2.03 for a medium size bag! Of course I got them for the party tonight although can't guarantee there'll be any left by the time people arrive! x
