I'm so glad I have a calendar, and a computer that tells me the date...stupid insomnia. I was SURE it was Monday today but no, Tuesday. Wonderful. Another day gone! Not that I'm wishing my life away, far from it, but still.

Parcel has just been sent. I've been advised that sending jellybabies , whilst a nice touch, is sending Mr CK into a sugar-induced frenzy, and was kindly told that "I'll get fat" and to "not send any more". TOUGH! So I sent jellytots - only because I love them, and would you believe that a packet didn't fit in the parcel box? Shame.... - and some fudge, chocolate covered raisins/peanuts (the healthy option) and some various other bits and bobs. Also sent a 5 A4 page letter to bore him to tears with

Life is pretty slow at the moment- what with being up until stupid o'clock every morning then sleeping late. AGH! I am determined to get my inner body clock reset so early to bed this evening. I may hit myself over the head with a rubber hammer, just to ensure some sleeping, albeit unconscious, time. If I don't write for a week or so, don't worry, it's probably just concussion. In itself, that wouldn't be unpleasant, as I hear one of the symptoms of being concussed is smelling bread/biscuits baking. How wonderful! Out of your nut AND being made hungry!

I'd type more but there really isn't much going on. I do, however, have the most pristine white cupboard doors in the neighbourhood - though why the Army insisted on putting grooved fronted doors, in white, in a kitchen is beyond me. They take an age to clean...and never look quite sparkly enough for long.

Hounds are playing up - as always - and decided that after digging out some frozen molehills, that it'd be a great idea to jump up on the sofa whilst I was sleeping, roll around, and muddy up the beautifully washed covers. I am so very tempted to put them both in the bath, because they love it so very much, cover them in cat-scented shampoo (it can be obtained) and watch their distress...

However, I'm a NICE person so I won't do that to them. Yet. Little gits. Boy dog is still suffering the after-effects of eating rotten prawns and has had his bed banished to the dining room, where I can still see him and hear his melodious little tooty-arse, but can't smell the aftermath. His affection for the gas fire is beginning to wane, luckily, though he has burnt his nose/mouth/tongue several times. I thought they were supposed to learn by repetition, and allegedly it takes 31 commands of the same type to instill a reaction and understanding in a dog. He must be up to 20, at least, by now, so with a bit of luck, not long to go before he gets it into his thick but cute skull, that fire burns. As does prolonged-heated metal...

I at least have made some plans this week, been researching some courses, and getting my finger out, as they say, into doing something a tad more productive. Sleep being the biggest issue to conquer and then I'll be fine...everything will magically fall into place. It will.

My TV aerial appears to have been blown out in the latest gales around here, which has left me in a rather annoying position of only having shopping channels available on the Freeview box. GAH! i am in two minds whether or not to call MHS as I doubt it'd even figure in their little "check boxes" as something to come and fix, but hey, if I can't sleep then I think an overnight phone call is in order. That way, one does not sit on hold like a numpty for hours, and at expense, to hear that "Your call is important to us...but we don't have a spare monkey capable of answering the phone at the moment ..."

At least I've gotten back into watching some oldies-but-favourites in the DVD collection, and actually moving my butt into doing more productive tasks around the house. I now have a pot of soup large enough to feed probably half of RP, so if anyone wants some...

I have laundry to hang up , and yet more washing to do (thanks, dogs...they were CREAM covers that were upstairs) and a few bits and pieces OH has asked me to take care of in his absence. I still can't find half the documents on his PC that he requires, despite being rather talented at seeking out information on the old computer systems, hence I shall be occupied later on this evening.

Major GRIN of the week is that Mr CK finally logged on to his Facebook - which I set up in March last year, and I'm the only person he has on it - and left me a message on my wall. Even my friends are impressed...who says an old dog can't learn new tricks? I wish he could pass on his learning ability to boy dog...or maybe it's because of him , the mutt takes forever to get to grips with anything...hm.
