Few things have happened in the last few weeks but no.1 in importance is my cousin and lovely friend has her baby
Got the text from her phone but presumably from her OH simply giving name, weight, time and 'mum and baby doing well'. I'm soso happy for her, I know its all come when she least expected it but she managed to finish off her degree even if she did have to sit her exams at 8 months pregnant and she did make me giggle 'no one tells you about the weird symptoms, my belly is so itchy!'
Talking to her a few days after they got home however, not so happy. she sounded absolutely knackered. she was in a lot of pain and so i put her in touch with my mum (who knows about these things) and I had a quick chat to her. baby hasn't slept for more than a few hours since they got home form hospital 4 days before and she cant sleep when the baby isnt, even if her OH is watching over her! i couldnt believe how quiet and tired she sounded, so unlike her.
I've given them a week or so to settle in, hopefully get a bit of a routine.. and am gonna give her a call this eve, but think i'll text first.. just in case..

other news, had a class holiday with my family. we've not all been together like that for a long time, since the xmas before last i think! only seen dad and bro for a week since last summer and mum not much more than that with them living faar away. my parents friends who were with us were really nice too so all in all very lovely holiday! (M isn't well at all know but she was very positive about it all, is doing the whole house and garden up and getting everything in order to make things as easy as possible for J when she's not around. I'm amazing at how practical she is about it all..)

me and OH are off on our holiday soon when his leave finally comes along, going to go stay with my parents. acclimatise OH to the heat before he goes to the desert on his own.. and have a few days away on our own in the middle of it all and then being taken to a swanky hotel on a couples holiday with my parents and their friends as a treat for OH before he goes so slightly strange but very excited.

feeling much more positive at the moment about him going away, i'm sure I'll eat my words in a few weeks but now that hes been given a (provisional) leaving date and I've read all the info and even watched the predeployment dvd its all sinking in quite well at the moment.. and my besties and flatmates said to me today when I met them for lunch that I've got to talk to them. whether i wanna do stuff or just have them climb in to bed with me or whatever I've just got to talk to them about what I'm feeling. means a lot to have them looking out for me.

final piece of drama from the last few weeks was miss lovely being left by mr idiot for 'this girl from work'. well looks like he's seen the error of his ways and sent her a 5 page letter apologising and saying shes an amazing girl (though not actually saying he wants her back, think he knows hes lost that one). we said she should send him back an empty envelope. or a simple note 'dear .., I have nothing to say to you, ..' idiot.

right, time to go do something productive. like unpack, or watch eastenders....
