Look at Thomas Cook. They do cheap flights but under a different name. Canadian Affair I think. BA aren't too bad if you book it at the right time. You won't get a direct flight to Edmonton though so Calgary's your best bet. Why would you want to go to Edmonton anyway?!

I've just thought. The trooping flights will start soon so you may manage to get on one of those depending on when you're going out.

Some people are like slinkies, they're really good for nothing...but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs!

The RAF (not always but usually in this case) fly out the guys to go on exercise in Canada. They're usually full one way but almost empty the other so you can manage to wangle a seat. If you've got kids then that's no problem either. It's not free but it's a lot cheaper than travelling civair.

Not sure you'll manage to get one though if you've no forces contact within Canada. Worth a shot though. Try getting in touch with BATUS transport and movements and give them a try.

I don't know if you're married to Army or what so apologies if this turns out to be useless advice! If you are, get your OH to look it up for you. I seriously doubt you'd find it if you googled it. You'd find BATUS but probably not the phone list.

I went to Calgary with Canadian Affair when t'other was in BATUS, and they were good.

It was £300 return from Manchester I think, cheapest out of them all when I booked but that was about 18 months ago.
