Re: BFPO-Boots fit, mail getting through? No actually!

Hi, I'm currently serving at a NATO post, Brunssum in the Netherlands. We've heard that ours and other NATO posts will be losing our BFPO service.
This will have a dramatic effect on welfare, in simple ways such as; Redirection of mail from the UK, all reconition of being UK Forces overseas for purchasing goods, the expence in sending/receiving mail from family and friends, to mention just a few.
Is there anything that can be done to prevent this lack service for our morale and welfare sake.

The Army Families Federation is extremely disappointed to hear about the proposed closure of these NATO HQ BFPO addresses. A BFPO address is a life-line for families posted abroad and the removal of a much needed facility has a high impact on issues such as banking, mail order goods, university fees as well as CRB checks when families return to the UK and seek employment.

We will be taking this matter up with the Adjutant General at the next scheduled meeting.

Further details can be found on our website: http://www.aff.org.uk/
