Advice needed - Im a newbie!

Hi
Ive been lurking around the site for a bit and got lots of useful info! Was wondering if anyone can help as you all seem to be so friendly and knowledgable? H2B is in Germany and was supposed to be back in July and we were getting married etc etc, but spanner thrown in works as transfer has been put back a year.
So my question is if we got married anyway would I be entitled to a MQ over here with him still in Germany? We are trying to consider all options but him being a man its all been left to me again!!
He is back and forth all the time anyway but trying to be practical as it costs us a fortune in hotel bills and we desperately want to be married.
Thanks for any advice.

Welcome Womble,
Firstly congratulations on your forthcoming nuptials.
Secondly, your OH will only be entitled to MQ's whilst you are married where he is based, so if he has 6 months or more left in Germany he will get allocated a qtr here IF he applies for one, otherwise he will have to go married unaccompanied until his posting back to UK where he will have to apply for a qtr before he leaves his current base in Germany.
Also remind him he is entitled to one free return journey per year, and that he as to apply via JPA.

Thanks for your reply
! Well thats one option out the window I guess. I quite fancy a year in Germany... maybe have to explore that option. Is it easy for dependants to find work?

Sammi's right. But if you know his next posting and there are quarters available there (and HIC are feeling generous/useful) then it might be worth a punt. It is possible to do it but it could be a bit of a battle.

Thanks Bodger. Hes transferring to a new trade so will be in training for 12 weeks before we actually know where we will end up... We could cope with July but next Feb seems a long way off and we have been apart since we met... Im trying to be positive for him but its really hard. Luckily I have good friends around me.

If I were in you I'd get married and get yourself off to Germany and enjoy the tax free year!

I spent a year in Germany (Fallingbostel) and loved it
Definitely go for it! I found it easy to get a job even as a non-dependant working for the naafi.
