Social Committee with COMMITMENT

Post Posted: Thu Feb 18, 2010 12:29 pm

I think it's time we had a seriously dedicated committee who are willing to pull together fun days, meets, sleep overs and instant suddenly needed support should the need ever arise.

Ideas are welcome, debate is also welcome, but I'll cut anything that drifts off topic.

I think we need at least 5 members, ideally all in different parts of the UK, all with time to spare, and all willing and able to organise. You should be able to have other committee members to stay over to do a reccy on any suggested meets, scope out venues, accommodation and so on so that no one person ends up responsible for the overall meet.

I'm all for girlie nights. but I'm a great believer in family weekends, but that said Kitty is now at the age I can safely leave her with the men folk and come back to find she hasn't hurt any of them, much.

Over to you..... anyone?

From THIS THREAD it might be an idea to slap these peeps a little ...

I think it is a brilliant idea and I was thinking yes, yes, yes I can do this. That is until I saw the sentence about be able to accomodate other members, I am sorry but we are at such maximum capacity levels that my house has a ships plimsoll line painted on the exterior wall.

So my offering is to fully support anything you try to organise, my experience is business management with plenty of event management with a huge amount of sub-editor experience..

Feel free to ask me to do anything that can help, location wise I am sort of Chelmsford/Colly in Essex.

Our garden is quite large. Plenty of room for tents!

Well we have enough room for 4 to sleep here in London.....

Does the idea of spending time with this lot really fill you with that much fear?

I'm fearless I've even had the Slug staying here on occasion, although she hates the three flights of stairs when she wants a cig!

For the moment we are SPTA, in term time I have 3 spare rooms.
We could or could not be moving! I'll let you know!

We're due to move, yet again, in the summer and no idea whether it's going to be UK based or otherwise, so I'll do a Boots and let you know! Only the one spare room though. Pesky kids!

You only need to put up one or two for a recce, not the whole meet!

Or if you're near a Premier Inn even better.....

Just volunteer to be on the committee you know it makes sense!

I'm in, usually have airbeds etc so can accomodate folks! If nowt else we can string up one of my frocks as a tent! Am pretty rubbish at drinking but practising lots. Have the organisational skills of a headless cockroach but am good at making 'lists' Very Happy
